In the beginning, the creation of a mural for the “Casino de la Selva” hotel in Cuernavaca, Morelos was proposed, whose main theme would be the history of mankind.
When the mural acquired huge dimensions, in keeping with the original idea of building the “Capilla Siqueiriana” it was decided to move it to a diamond-shaped site located within the “Centro Urbano Turistico 2000” project in the capital city.
The Polyforum Siqueiros is the culmination of the dreams of David Alfaro Siqueiros and Manuel Suárez y Suárez. The former constructed the largest mural in the world, while the latter designed a multiple forum center for the arts and culture, and what was previously the “Hotel de México”, now known as the World Trade Center.
Nowadays, the Polyforum Siqueiros museum has the world’s largest mural named “The March of Humanity”, created by the last member of the Mexican muralist movement, David Alfaro Siqueiros.
